Presence of lifeguards
The lifeguards of the Reddingsbrigade Noordwijk supervise the beaches of Noordwijk from mid-May to early September (10:00-18:00). Because Noordwijk's beach is 13 kilometers long, our lifeguards operate from three fixed locations (Wilhelmina Boulevard, Duindamseslag and Langervelderslag).
The lifeboat station on the Wilhelmina Boulevard is manned in the weekends from mid-May to the beginning of September. It is manned daily during the months of July and August. The lifeboat stations at Duindamseslag and Langevelderslag are manned at the weekends in July and August, and when the weather is fine, if there is sufficient manpower.
Supervision and assistance
Our lifeguards supervise sunbathers, bathers and swimmers. They do this from the lifeguard stations and if necessary at the waterline or in the water. In order to keep an eye on the 13 kilometres of beach, patrols are regularly carried out (walking, driving and sailing). If necessary, the lifeguards will take action.
What can you do at a lifeguard station?
Have you lost your child, do you have a first aid problem or any other question? Then you can go to one of our rescue posts.
Emergency? Always call 112. If necessary, our lifeguards will always be alerted.
Collaborations
The Noordwijk Rescue Brigade works closely with the neighbouring rescue services: Katwijk, Wassenaar, Zandvoort and Bloemendaal. In addition, the Noordwijk Rescue Brigade has become an extension of the regular emergency services, as these cannot always reach the sea, beach and dunes with their equipment.
