Keep on swimming
Everyone who has obtained the swimming certificate C has a passport to a lifetime of swimming and water fun. Yet it is advisable to continue to swim regularly to keep up the practice. And thus to prevent the acquired skills in the water diminish or even get lost.
Would you like your child to become an even better swimmer or to practice some kind of water sport? Then take a look at our advanced lifesaver courses.
Swimming diploma A
You master skills for a pool without attractions. Swimming Diploma A is the stepping stone to Swimming Diploma B and the complete Swimming ABC.
Swimming certificate B
You master skills for a pool with attractions, such as a (white water) slide, a wave pool and a rapid. Swimming certificate B is the intermediate step to swimming certificate C = National Standard Swimming Safety.
Swimming certificate C
National Standard for Swimming Safety
You will master skills for a pool with attractions and in open water without currents or large waves, such as recreational pools and wider ditches/canals (except in the sea). With this diploma you meet the National Standard for Swimming Safety.
National Standard for Swimming Safety
The Noordwijk Rescue Brigade is a licensee of the National Swimming Certificates and trains for the National Standard for Swimming Safety. The National Swimming Safety Council establishes the National Swimming Safety Standard and the Examination Regulations for National Swimming Certificates and checks whether the Noordwijk Rescue Squad, the quality of our swimming lessons and diploma swimming meet these quality requirements.
In order to meet the National Swimming Safety Standard you need to be in possession of the complete Zwem-ABC. The swimming diplomas A and B are a stepping stone to the complete Zwem-ABC.
Lesson times
The swimming lessons for the Zwem-ABC are on Tuesday evening between 6:00 pm and 7:40 pm and divided into three groups. To teach your child the right skills the lessons start in the target group / deep pool. If your child masters the swimming strokes he/she will get lessons in the deep pool.
- 6:00 - 6:30 pm: Group 1 (Target group pool/ shallow pool)
- 6:30 -19:00 pm: Group 2 (Target group pool/ shallow pool)
- 7:00 - 7:40 pm: Other groups (Competition pool)
The examinations for a diploma are scheduled on evenings. On these evenings there will be no swimming lessons for the children who are not allowed to swimm. If your child is going to swim, you will receive a message from us in advance.
Learning to swim is vital in our watery environment. Not only do we live near a lot of water, but we also like to seek out the water. Therefore it is a must that children learn to swim at a young age. The basis of learning to swim is the Zwem-ABC. All our swimming lessons are held on Tuesday evenings at the Binnenzee swimming pool in Noordwijk. Registration is possible from the age of 4. Calling from the waiting list happens with a minimum age of 5 years.
