Financial Accountability
The NRB receives income from the Municipality of Noordwijk in the form of subsidies for beach supervision and training and use of the swimming pool. Furthermore, there is a municipal investment fund for long-term investments in e.g. vessels, vehicles and housing. In addition, the NRB receives membership fees, donations, contributions from residents of Noordwijk from the annual collection, contributions from sponsors and fees for security of events on and around the beach.
The assets are tied up in savings accounts. The Financial Report contains the balance sheet and statement of income and expenditure for the past financial year (2020): link (see Appendix). In 2020 a negative result arose. This was mainly due to circumstances surrounding COVID. Among other things, there was an extra busy beach season (substantial increase in operating costs) and the absence of income from, for example, security for events and the annual collection.
